My friend had told me that she had recently gone to the drive-in movies with her family and had a good time. We haven't been to a drive in since we moved here 9 years ago so I thought we'd give it a try. We had decided on "Nim's Island" at 8pm. With plenty of popcorn, licorice , 13 juice boxes in a cooler with ice(better to have too many drinks than not enough), whoppers, chips ahoy, blankets, pillows, camping chairs and pads... we set out. We thought it would be more comfortable with two cars(and less fighting over who is getting squished). We had a later start then we had anticipated but still got there in enough time to park and get situated. The movie was cute and the kids all thought it was lots of fun. Brigg was all over the place but I'm sure all the sugar was partly to blame. We will definitely do it again.

Alone at Last
After nearly a week without the worries of the world (and household), Rich and I came home refreshed and rested. We missed our kids but were glad for the much needed time away. Rich was in heaven because he was able to golf almost everyday. I was in heaven because I got to read, shop, lay by the pool, do a little putting myself, and not cook and clean. We went out to eat alot or had things that didn't require much cooking and cleanup(grilling). Some of the highlights of the trip.....Rich's brother happen to have a big party the Saturday we were there. He lives in San Diego and we were staying in Palm Deseret. It's only two hours away. We don't get to see David very often and decided that it would be fun to go to the party and then spend a couple of days at the beach. The party was a lot of fun! The food was all catered and was AMAZING!!! I know I gained some weight. The beach ended up being a lot colder than we had anticipated. Bummer(I am a whimp when it comes to cold).
We also met up with an old friend of Brian and Leslie's(they used to live in Palm Desert). His name is Garth and he is in charge of a team of real estate agents in the very high profile, "Vintage Club". The Vintage Club has the most beautiful golf course that I have ever seen! Garth took us on a golf car tour throughout the community showing us the homes of people such as Bill Gates, the Nordstrom family, guy that owns Pottery Barn/William Sonoma(sorry, can't remember his name. Chuck Williams sold out to him.) and so many more. It was so fasinating to hear all that he knew about everyone.
So to put it in a nutshell...we had a great time! A BIG THANKS to my neice Kassidi for taking care of our kids while we were gone. What a trooper!! The kids enjoyed having her and her daughter Julia here. Thanks again Kass!

No more Hawaii
For a year now Rich and I have had a trip to Hawaii planned(without the kids). We have been counting down the months, days. The dates...April 17th --25th. We had even done a few tanning sessions in preparation. I had the coconut lotion so that every time I used it I thought of Hawaii and all the fun things we had planned. We booked our flights 6 months in advance. We had a sitter lined up to stay with the kids. The car was rented. Everything was in place until the unexpected happened....our airline decided without warning to go out of business!!!! The nerve!! Our tropical vacation was quickly unraveling! By the time we made what seemed like a hundred phone calls to airlines, resort, car rental, etc.,and spent close to a whole day online trying to find tickets that weren't tripled in price or that didn't take up to 40 hrs to get there(some had so many stops and layovers it was a joke!) it was over. :( The coconut lotion has been put away. Depressing!! The resort said they would postpone our reservation if we sent them proof of the flight itinerary so we are shooting for later in the year. Did I already say DEPRESSING!!!
Well on a positive note, we are still going to take advantage of the sitter and get away for several days to Palm Springs, CA. I look forward to spending time with Rich. Spa, massage, pedicure, relaxation...here I come!!

Mom look at me!!!
So Jill beat me to the punch on posting this before me. We all know it takes me at least a few days to post something. Anyways, on Friday I got together with some ladies in the ward and made bread. I'm sure my mom has fell to the floor in disbelief. I have never made bread by myself. In fact I haven't even attempted it in years. Guess what mom..... we even ground our own wheat!! I am the proud parent of six beautiful loaves of bread!!! I even volunteered to have it at my house this Friday.
